On 10 November 2015 at FishWorks restaurant in London’s Swallow Street, CEO of The Fishermen’s Mission, Commodore David Dickens CBE, received a cheque for £5,528 from Joe Teixeira, FishWorks’ CEO.
FishWorks has long supported the work of The Fishermen’s Mission and excluding this year’s donation, has already contributed over £12,000 to the charity and Joe Teixeira confirms that it will continue to do so moving forward, noting;
“At FishWorks, we are committed to offering our ongoing and unwavering support to this truly worthy cause because the work undertaken by The Fishermen’s Mission is absolutely vital to ensuring the well-being of fishermen and their families. Charities have to rely on support from businesses and the public for their continued viability, so we are both humbled and pleased to be in a position to give back to the fishermen who battle the elements daily to provide the freshest produce for our customers to enjoy.”
David Dickens, CEO of the Fishermen’s Mission adds;
“We are hugely grateful for the ongoing friendship and support we receive from FishWorks. We would like to thank them and all their customers for this generous donation. Fishermen and their families rely on us to be there, whenever they need us, day or night, to provide the help they need. We receive no public funding, so without the commitment of good people such as those at FishWorks we might not be in a position to respond.”
The donations received by The Fishermen’s Mission are used provide emergency support, as well as practical, financial, spiritual and emotional care to active, retired and injured fishermen and their families throughout the whole of the UK.
